ABUJA — The political war for the FCT has reached a boiling point as Senator Ireti Kingibe launched a scorched-earth verbal attack on Minister Nyesom Wike, comparing his leadership style to the infamous Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin.
Speaking on Nigeria Info FM, Kingibe reacted to Wike’s recent vow to block her 2027 re-election bid. The Senator didn’t pull any punches, claiming the Minister is suffering from a massive “god complex” and has lost all sense of self-control.
“The Minister has a god complex, he has no control,” Kingibe fumed. She recalled a documentary she once watched about Idi Amin cheating in a swimming competition—diving in early and then arrogantly celebrating his “victory”—stating that Wike’s conduct during the recent FCT council elections was a carbon copy of that tyrant’s playbook.
The comparison suggests a Minister who “jumps into the pool” before the whistle blows and expects the city to cheer. This latest clash marks a point of no return for the capital’s two most powerful figures, turning the governance of Abuja into a high-stakes political thriller.
