From Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
An appraisal team from the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has inspected major infrastructure projects in Bauchi State as part of plans to support ongoing urban development.
The team’s visit follows Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s earlier engagement with EBID in Lomé.
Projects visited include the Wunti Flyover and the Central Market Flyover, both designed to ease traffic congestion and enhance commercial activities within Bauchi metropolis.
The appraisal mission is expected to evaluate technical and financial viability before the bank proceeds with further financing arrangements.
The appraisal mission forms part of EBID’s standard due diligence process and provides an opportunity for both parties to assess technical, financial, and operational considerations before the next phase of engagement.
Earlier in his welcoming speech to the delegation, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent utilization of resources.
He noted that the projects under review are intended to improve urban mobility, strengthen commercial activities, and expand critical infrastructure across the state.
