AWKA, Anambra – In a major political twist, the State Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Tochukwu Obiadi, has been sworn in as the State Secretary of the City Boy Movement (CBM) in Anambra.

The appointment was confirmed during a high-profile ceremony on Saturday, March 7, 2026, signaling a massive cross-party realignment in the heart of the Southeast.

The Strategic Crossover

The inauguration, led by Southeast Zonal Coordinator Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), saw Obiadi take a top administrative role in a movement dedicated to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 agenda.

The move is seen as a “bridge-building” exercise, placing a key regional party official at the center of the national ruling party’s grassroots machinery.

A Growing Alliance?

Obiadi’s new role alongside Adaora Soludo (daughter of Governor Charles Soludo), who serves as the movement’s State Woman Leader, has fueled intense speculation of a secret APGA-APC alliance. Critics and supporters alike are asking whether this “dual identity” is a strategic play by the Anambra State Government to secure a seat at the national table.

The Road to 2027

As the new State Secretary, Obiadi is now tasked with coordinating the City Boy Movement across all 21 local government areas of Anambra. Coming on the same weekend that Peter Obi declared his intent to “chase Tinubu out” while flagging off the ADC in Awka, the appointment sets the stage for a high-stakes political showdown in the region.

The big question remains: Will the APGA National Leadership sanction their Youth Leader, or is this the first step in a formal merger ahead of the 2027 polls?
