YOLA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a resounding endorsement of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as a “dedicated and honest” public servant who has remained steadfast in his commitment to the nation’s stability.
The President gave the commendation on Monday during a working visit to Yola, the Adamawa State capital, where he was received by a massive crowd of residents and top government officials. Speaking at the Government House, Tinubu took a moment to specifically acknowledge Ribadu, a native of Adamawa, for his role in the administration’s security architecture.
“You are doing a good job. You are a good National Security Adviser, honest and committed to the job,” the President stated. “The state of Adamawa is strongly proud of you, and I am too.”
The public vote of confidence comes at a time when the security apparatus is under intense scrutiny. By openly backing the NSA, the President appeared to signal his satisfaction with the current intelligence-led approach to tackling banditry and insurgency in the North and across the federation.
The visit was not solely focused on security, as the President also commissioned several landmark infrastructure projects executed by the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri administration. These include the newly constructed Governor’s Office Complex, the Galadima Aminu Way, and the multi-million naira Bekaji Underpass.
Governor Fintiri, while welcoming the President, noted that the projects were designed to modernize Yola and position Adamawa as a hub for regional trade and stability. He thanked the President for the federal government’s support in maintaining peace in the Northeast.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Governors of Borno, Bauchi, and Gombe states, as well as traditional rulers led by the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa.
Observers believe the President’s visit and his direct praise for Ribadu serve as a strategic move to solidify his administration’s alliance with the North-East political leadership while reinforcing the message that the nation’s security leadership remains intact.
