ONITSHA — The controversial and outspoken General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje (widely known as ‘The Indaboski’), has launched a stinging attack on the political and business elite supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a fiery sermon that has gone viral across social media, the cleric categorically rejected the City Boy Movement—a pro-Tinubu support group—and accused Nigerian billionaires and influencers of “gaslighting” the public while the country slides into deeper economic and security crises.
The “Selfish Interest” Charge
Odumeje did not mince words, targeting high-profile figures who have recently aligned themselves with the Presidency. He argued that their support is bought with “selfish interests” rather than a genuine concern for the welfare of the masses.
“These politicians, influencers, and billionaires supporting APC don’t care about Nigerians,” Odumeje declared. “All they care about is their selfish interests and what they can get from the government. They are eating while the people are dying of hunger.”
A Call for Mass Protest
Citing the unprecedented levels of inflation, insecurity, and poverty, the Prophet urged Nigerians to stop being “silent observers” of their own suffering. He called for a massive, coordinated protest against the President Bola Tinubu administration, describing the current state of the nation as “unbearable.”
Key Demands from Odumeje’s Message:
- Fix the Economy:Â He lamented the “death-trap” economy that has seen the cost of food and fuel skyrocket beyond the reach of the average citizen.
- End Insecurity:Â He criticized the government’s inability to stop the daily kidnappings and killings occurring across the federation.
- Release Nnamdi Kanu: Reaffirming his stance on the Southeast crisis, Odumeje demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as a prerequisite for peace in the region.
Resistance to the “City Boy” Movement
Odumeje’s comments follow the recent appointment of billionaire Obi Cubana as a regional director for the City Boy Movement in the Southeast—a move that has polarized the region. While some see it as strategic engagement, Odumeje views it as a betrayal of the suffering masses.
“You cannot be celebrating ‘City Boy’ when the people in the village are being slaughtered by bandits and cannot afford one meal a day,” he noted.
The Government’s Stance
The Presidency has traditionally dismissed the Prophet’s outbursts as “theatrical,” but with the political temperature rising over the 2026 budget delays and security lapses, Odumeje’s call for protests is gaining significant traction among his millions of followers.
As of Saturday, February 14, 2026, security agencies have increased surveillance in major cities following several high-profile calls for civil unrest, though the “Indaboski” remains undeterred in his rhetoric.
