The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Jama’are “A” Ward in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has clarified that Haruna Mohammed Jungudo is no longer a member of the party, declaring that he lacks the authority to issue statements on its behalf.

In a press release dated February 25, 2026, and signed by the Ward Chairman, Alhaji Garba Beguwa, the party leadership said its attention had been drawn to a statement allegedly issued by Jungudo in which he purportedly acted in the capacity of Chairman of the Bauchi State PDP Caretaker Committee.

The ward executives, however, described his claim as misleading and unfounded, stating that Jungudo had since been duly expelled from the party at the ward level. “For the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of transparency, we wish to categorically state that Haruna Mohammed Jungudo has since been duly expelled from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the ward level,” the statement read.

According to the release, the expulsion was carried out by the Ward Executive Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Garba Beguwa, in line with the provisions of the PDP Constitution, 2017. The statement cited Sections 58(1), 59(1), and 59(2) of the party’s constitution, which empower the Ward Executive to discipline, suspend, or expel members found guilty of misconduct, indiscipline, or actions contrary to the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

The ward leadership stressed that following his expulsion, Jungudo no longer holds membership status in the party and therefore lacks the constitutional authority, moral standing, or legitimacy to make representations on behalf of the PDP at any level.

The statement urged party members, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard any claims or pronouncements made by Jungudo under the banner of the party.

Reaffirming its commitment to discipline and unity, the Jama’are “A” Ward leadership stated that the party remains steadfast in ensuring strict adherence to constitutional procedures and internal party regulations at all levels.
