From Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of new modern markets across Bauchi State.
This, according to him, is part of his administration’s strategic move to boost trade, empower local entrepreneurs, as well as drive economic expansion.
Speaking, Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s dedication to urban transformation, employment generation, and the creation of a more enabling environment for small and medium-sized enterprises.
He further stated that the proposed markets will be properly designed, fully equipped with essential amenities, and structured to guarantee safety, accessibility, and convenience for both traders and customers.

The markets slated for construction are:
• Fanteka Market
• Kasuwan Gwari Market
• Furniture Market
• New Wunti Market
• Grain and Herbs Market
Governor Mohammed noted that the initiative aligns with his broader development blueprint aimed at positioning Bauchi State as a vibrant commercial hub in the North-East and across Nigeria.
He, however, assured stakeholders of continued government investment in critical infrastructure that directly improves livelihoods and strengthens economic prosperity.
Present were top government functionaries, traditional leaders, market executives, and community members.
