From Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
Residents of Kafin Duguri village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State are mourning following a brutal bandit attack that left four community members in the area.

The attack, which occurred on Saturday, saw over 100 armed bandits storm the community, causing panic and devastation.
During a condolence visit on Monday, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, delivered a message from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing sympathy to the bereaved families and the entire community.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Village Head, Isah Yakubu, appealed for urgent government intervention, particularly the provision of arms to enable residents defend themselves against future attacks.
“This is our home. We were born here and earn our livelihood here. We have nowhere else to go. All we need is protection,” he said.
Responding, governor Bala Mohammed assured that security agencies would intensify surveillance and operational strategies in the area. He, however, stressed that all actions must comply with established rules of engagement.
The state government also pledged to support the families of the deceased and provide medical care for the injured.
The visit was attended by top security officials and traditional leaders as the community continues to grapple with fear and uncertainty.
