From Nasir Shuaibu, Bauchi
The Executive Directors’ Forum of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Bauchi State has congratulated the state government and people of Bauchi on the celebration of its 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as a testament to resilience, civic participation and democratic growth.
In a goodwill message to mark the Golden Jubilee, the Chairperson of the Forum, Mrs. Lydia J. Shehu, said the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the collective journey of the state and the critical role civil society has played in promoting accountability, inclusion and peacebuilding.
She noted that Civil Society Organizations have remained strong partners in democratic governance by advocating social justice, citizen participation and the protection of fundamental rights.
According to her, as Bauchi marks five decades of existence, CSOs in the state remain committed to supporting democratic values, strengthening institutions and amplifying the voices of citizens.
Mrs. Shehu called on government, traditional institutions, the private sector and citizens to continue working together to deepen democracy and build sustainable legacies for future generations.
