From Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Friday meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to present a comprehensive security report on the worsening crisis in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The closed-door meeting focused on the recent wave of bandit attacks that have led to loss of lives and mass displacement in communities such as Mansur, Gwana, Digare, Yalo and Futuk as well as neibouring areas.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Governor Mohammed said he provided the President with firsthand accounts from affected communities, detailing the humanitarian and security implications of the attacks.
He explained that discussions centred on strengthening coordinated security operations, increasing federal support to the state, and deploying additional measures to restore peace and stability in Alkaleri and neighbouring areas.
The meeting, according to the governor, is part of ongoing consultations between the Bauchi State Government and the Federal Government to curb escalating insecurity in the state.
