Asari Dokubo, a Niger Delta activist and Kalabari chieftain, has expressed support for the deployment of American troops in Nigeria, saying he’s willing to join forces with them to tackle insecurity and banditry. Dokubo stated, “I will join Americans in tracking down these people for the good and safety of Nigeria,” emphasizing cooperation rather than submission
The US troops’ deployment aims to support Nigeria’s security operations, and Dokubo stressed that any support should respect Nigeria’s sovereignty and command structure. He noted that insecurity has caused immense suffering, particularly in rural communities, and extraordinary challenges require collaboration to save lives and restore stability.

However, not everyone shares Dokubo’s enthusiasm. Sheikh Gumi, an Islamic cleric, had previously opposed US military intervention, arguing it could escalate insecurity
