The All Progressives Congress (APC) has made a surprise move, replacing Governor Hope Uzodimma with former Governor Aminu Bello Masari as the new chairman of the APC 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee. Uzodimma, who was initially appointed to lead the committee, will now serve as treasurer
The party has also expanded the committee’s membership from 73 to 90, co-opting top chieftains like Senator Barry Mpigi. The changes are part of the APC’s preparations for its 2026 National Convention, expected to shape the party’s leadership and direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Uzodimma’s removal has sparked reactions, with some questioning the reasons behind the shuffle. The APC has not officially commented on the changes, but insiders suggest it’s a strategic move to revamp the party’s leadership structure
