_Port Harcourt, Nigeria — Prince *Tonye Cole*, co‑founder of Sahara Energy and former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, has declared that Governor *Siminalayi Fubara’s* political activities within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are strictly an internal matter for that party. Speaking on TVC News, Cole noted that since Fubara won the governorship on the PDP platform, “whatever they do in PDP is their own business,” and he has no intention of interfering [1].
Cole stressed that his focus remains on strengthening the APC, urging members to build a party rooted in legality, transparency, and credible processes. He criticized the entrenched culture of godfatherism and power concentration in Rivers politics, arguing that such practices have eroded governance and harmed ordinary citizens. “Political influence should never outweigh the rule of law, fairness, or respect for institutions,” he added.
Addressing internal APC challenges, Cole acknowledged existing divisions and called for dialogue, negotiation, and compromise as the 2027 elections approach. He maintained that true unity can only be achieved when decisions are guided by principle and law, not personal shortcuts. Reaffirming his political independence, Cole said he is not beholden to any individual or group, and his commitment is to help the APC become a disciplined, credible platform capable of delivering good governance in Rivers State.
In summary, while the PDP manages its own affairs, Cole emphasized that the APC must prioritize party supremacy, legality, and the well‑being of the people.
