The Governor’s presence at the annual spiritual summit, hosted by Senior Pastor David Ibiyeomie, signaled a moment of reflection amidst the state’s current political climate. Fubara was accompanied by a delegation of notable allies, including former state legislator Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja and Chief Theodore Georgewill.
In a sermon titled “Securing God’s Help Through Your Mind,” Pastor Ibiyeomie addressed the assembled thousands on the necessity of mental discipline and renewal. Describing the mind as the primary “control center” of human destiny, the cleric asserted that the most significant battles in life are fought and won within the realm of the intellect.
“The battle of life is in the mind, and it must be adequately guarded,” Ibiyeomie told the worshippers, which included dignitaries from across the country and abroad. He outlined a roadmap for mental empowerment, citing disciplined thinking, meditation, and the continuous pursuit of knowledge as essential tools for attracting divine assistance and achieving personal breakthroughs.
The “Glory Reign” convention remains one of the largest annual religious gatherings in the South-South region, serving as a hub for spiritual renewal and communal prayer. The attendance of the state’s top executive leadership continues a long-standing tradition of engagement between the Rivers State government and the influential religious community in Port Harcourt.
