The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has called for restraint and mutual forbearance in the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Governor Sim Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In a press statement, PANDEF expressed grave concern over the developments, citing the critical importance of Rivers State to the Niger Delta region and Nigeria’s socio-political stability. The organization urged all parties to prioritize peace, development, and the welfare of the people.
*Reconciliation Committee Formed*
PANDEF has established a high-level reconciliation committee, led by Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, CON, to intervene in the matter. The committee comprises eminent Nigerians, including Senator Obende Domingo, Rt Hon (Chief) Essien Nduese, CON, and Dr. Timiebi Koripamo-Agari, OON.
The committee aims to achieve a peaceful, fair, and sustainable resolution through a dispassionate and inclusive process. PANDEF has called on all parties to cooperate with the committee ¹.
