Abuja, Nigeria – Former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Alhaji Idi Farouk, has issued a stern warning to Nigerian leaders, emphasizing the need for accountability and loyalty in government. Speaking on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, Farouk stressed that leaders must be firm and prioritize their office’s stability to deliver on promises.
Farouk’s comments come amidst the escalating feud between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, which has raised concerns about governance and stability in the state. “If I were President and an appointee was acting against my political progress, I would sack him immediately,” Farouk stated, highlighting the importance of leadership strength
The former NOA chief also noted that internal conflicts between leaders and appointees can hinder government progress, creating confusion and projecting weakness. He urged leaders to balance loyalty with the need for stability, ensuring they fulfill their commitments to the people.
The Wike-Fubara feud has sparked widespread concern, with investors reportedly fleeing Rivers State due to the political uncertainty
