Reports circulating on social media and some online news platforms claiming that His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, is planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are entirely false, misleading, and politically motivated.
These rumours are clearly the handiwork of desperate opposition elements seeking to create confusion and score cheap political points ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Such tactics are neither new nor surprising, especially given the political strength and popularity of Governor Bala Mohammed and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State.
Governor Bala Mohammed has remained steadfast, loyal, and deeply committed to the PDP.
His political history speaks for itself since 2007 where he unseat a sitting Governor in a Senatorial election. In both 2007, 2019 and 2023, he stood firm against overwhelming opposition, external pressures, and coordinated attempts to undermine his mandate.
Despite these forces, he triumphed at the polls, reaffirming the confidence and trust of the people of Bauchi State. Under his leadership, Bauchi State has witnessed remarkable progress across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security of lives and property.
His administration has consistently demonstrated responsibility, inclusiveness, and people-oriented governance. These achievements have strengthened the PDP beyond the imagination of the opposition and entrenched it as the dominant political force in the state.
Let it be stated clearly and unequivocally: Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has no intention whatsoever of leaving the PDP. He has invested immense political capital, leadership, and vision into building and sustaining the party in Bauchi State.
The PDP today stands strong because of his commitment, resilience, and strategic leadership.
The opposition’s growing anxiety is understandable. Governor Bala Mohammed’s performance has set a standard that continues to resonate with the electorate.
This reality explains why many believe that any candidate presented by the PDP in Bauchi State stands a strong chance of victory in 2027.
It is worth recalling that similar false narratives were peddled in the lead-up to the 2023 elections, suggesting that Governor Bala Mohammed would defect to the APC.
Those stories collapsed under the weight of truth when the PDP decisively defeated the APC in both the presidential and governorship elections in Bauchi State. We therefore call on purveyors of misinformation and amateur politicians to desist from misleading the public. Bauchi State deserves issue-based politics, not propaganda driven by fear and desperation.
As 2027 approaches, the question confronting the opposition remains unanswered: What will they campaign on in the face of the solid record, unity, and popularity of the PDP under the leadership of His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) remain unmatched, after Atiku Abubakar I in the whole of Northern Nigeria there’s no one like Kauran Bauchi the Political Vice Chancellor of Bauchi State politics and Nigeria at large.
