Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his determination to complete his term, dismissing threats and intimidation attempts.
In a statement, Fubara asserted, “Let it be clear: I am not going anywhere. The mandate was given by the people and can only be taken by God’s time.” He vowed to govern effectively, fearlessly, and without compromise until the end of his term.
Fubara emphasized his focus on governance, saying, “When you are focused on the destination, you don’t stop to throw stones at every barking dog.” He expressed confidence in his administration’s progress, stating, “We are stepping into 2026 with strength and silence. My focus is on the work, and I will see this journey to its lawful end.”
The Governor’s statement comes amidst ongoing tensions with the Rivers State House of Assembly, which has initiated impeachment proceedings against him. Fubara’s administration has been marked by controversy, including clashes with former Governor Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Fubara’s vow to see out his term underscores his commitment to his mandate, despite challenges. “The project is Rivers State, and we are just getting started,” he declared, signaling his intention to push forward with his agenda.
