The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to forging strategic international partnerships aimed at accelerating economic growth, industrialisation and sustainable development in the state.
The governor stated this while receiving the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Nigeria, Mr. Michał Cygan, at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The meeting built on earlier engagements between Bauchi State and the Polish government, with a focus on expanding areas of practical cooperation.
However, Governor Bala Mohammed said the visit provided an opportunity to deepen discussions on partnerships that could stimulate industrial growth, promote economic diversification and support sustainable development across Bauchi State.
According to him, extensive deliberations were held on Poland’s transformation into a major industrial and manufacturing hub, a feat he attributed to deliberate industrialisation policies, innovation and the effective deployment of technology.
He expressed his administration’s strong interest in exploring strategic sectors where Bauchi State could benefit from Polish expertise, particularly through technology transfer, investment and the adaptation of proven development models to local realities.
Furthermore, My administration is keen on learning from global best practices and leveraging international cooperation to drive development,” the governor said. “We are open to partnerships that will create jobs, strengthen our economic base and enhance Bauchi State’s competitiveness as an investor-friendly destination.” he said.
Governor Bala Mohammed emphasised that such collaborations are critical to positioning Bauchi State not only within Nigeria but also in the global investment landscape.
The Polish ambassador, Mr. Cygan, commended the Bauchi State Government for its openness to international cooperation and reaffirmed Poland’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in areas of industry, manufacturing, technology and sustainable development.
The meeting underscores Bauchi State’s growing engagement with international partners as part of broader efforts to drive economic transformation and inclusive development.
