ADC dismiss report of suspension of Bauchi Chairman of the party

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bauchi State Chapter, has affirmed Hassan Haruna as the authentic Chairman of the Party and dismissed reports by purported by few members of the party that claimed to have suspended the Chairman.

The State Public Relations Officer of the Party Saleh Mohammad, represented by Honourable Harsanu Guyaba accused some of the party members of attempting to cause division in the state while dismissing the report of the removal of the state chairman.

Guyaba flanked by the embattled Chairman Hassan and Other State Executive officers and 20 local government Executive of the Party said this at the State Secretariat of the party today in Bauchi, He described the people that claimed to have suspended the Chairman as impostors and pledged to refer them to the national leadership of the party for necessary action.

The Party officials said that the action of the “impostors” is nothing but a desperate attempt to destabilise the growing strength, popularity and the unity of the Party in Bauchi State. “Their conduct is condemnable, alien to the values and principles of our great Party. Their action is a clear testimony that they are just paid agents, settled to destabilise the party by other Political Parties.”

The ADC officials advised its party faithful and the public to disregard the statements, publications and rhetoric of the “self-acclaimed impostors”, saying that they do not represent the Party in Bauchi State.

“Our supporters should remain focused, vigilant and be loyal to the Party constitution and current leadership at both the State and national levels while all the necessary steps are being taken to address this act of impersonation, gross indiscipline and misconduct through the appropriate Party channels.

“We want to assure our party members that we remain focused, united and committed to building a strong and viable political platform anchored on justice, internal democracy and credible leadership in line with the vision of the party at the national level.”

On his Part The State Chairman of the party, Honourable Hassan Haruna explained that he was aware that some of the members who were expelled and suspended from ADC have been contracted to fragment the party. He said that they have opened a factional office while flaunting their own “illegal” leader.

Haruna said those aggrieved and suspended members were involved in questionable acts and faced the sanctions. “They don’t have legal support to create such fractions. About two months ago, we teamed up as a disciplinary committee of which they don’t have the right to do. They failed.

“We are aware that they are working with some elected officials of some other parties and we won’t allow them. They said my offence was conniving with non-members of ADC, and I told them that this is a coalition party –everyone is free to come.”

Haruna said that the party provided a constitutional process in removing the sitting chairman and has not been followed. He said that all the 20 local government chairpersons are loyal to him and ready to move the party forward.
