Director General of South East Governors Forum Sen Uche Ekwunife has boasted that the 2027 Presidential election would be a walk over for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
Ekwunife further posited that despite the love people may have for Presidential candidate of the Labor Party Mr Peter Obi it cannot translate to his wining the coming election noting that Tinubu is also well loved by the people.
According to her shortly after the stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress APC in respect of the e registration the party is emboldened and better charged to return Tinubu in the next election.
“By 2027 the election will not just be a walk over the election will come President Ahmed Bola Tinubu would win and Nigerians will be good for it .
“I will not dismiss the possible influence of Mr Peter Obi. Obi is somebody that is well loved okay ; Tinubu is equally well loved but democracy is giving support to your party and I am a member of the APC and I will work for APC and I want APC to win the election and APC will win ”
Reacting to the allegation that the National leadership of the APC provided logistics for the gubernatorial election in Anambra state Ekwunife dismissed those claims contending that she did not see any funds provided for the said election.
“I was told that had it been we got twenty percent of support from the party during the gubernatorial election we would have won the Anambra election”
“Nobody gave me one naira for that election and I was told that probably the party didn’t bring money but I didn’t see money and you know that vote buying was the order of the day and some people even bought one vote at N50,000.00 or N25,000.00 and N30,000.00”
“But APC did not bring one naira to any polling boot and I have gone through many electoral processes in Anambra state up to five major elections so I should be in a better position to speak ”
“I went for House of Representatives election won twice also won the Senatorial District elections twice so I know that elections are capital intensive”
Ekwunife insisted that elections cannot be win without the statutory logistics.
“You can win election without giving people that needed support so it is not done that way ”
“Probably there have been misgivings or somebody blackmailed us I don’t know”
“But I must continue to thank the people and members of the party because they showed interest the party executive showed interest even at the ward level and when I hear people castigating APC executive, I laugh because they did not know what they passed through”
“They were very intusistic they were willing they were desirous and ready and worked hard for the party to have victory but it all went the way it went and the Governor has won Prof Charles Soludo and we are going to give him all the support to ensure that Anambra state is on the right track ”
“But we have people in our party that can do much much better but what matters is that Anambra state is moving higher ” she said.
