The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has released the names of 16 officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces implicated in a Special Investigative Panel probe into allegations of serious misconduct, including a plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, announced on Monday that the panel had concluded its investigation, finding several officers with cases to answer. The affected personnel will face a military Court Martial, adhering to established procedures and regulations.

The investigation examined the officers’ conduct, identifying actions inconsistent with the Armed Forces’ ethics, values, and professional standards. The process aims to preserve internal discipline, cohesion, and operational effectiveness.
