Ozo Chinakueze Supports 50 Nnobi Residents at 50th Birthday

A prominent community leader in Nnobi, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, Engr Nwankwo Okechukwu Jeremiah, made history on Saturday, December 27, 2025, when he supported 50 individuals from the community in commemoration of his 50th birthday.

Engr Nwankwo gifted 14 petty traders one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) each to support their businesses. He supported one Arinze Okpala, newly settled apprentice, with five hundred thousand naira (500,000); gave one hundred and fifty thousand naira each to three undergraduates to support their education, and also gifted 50kg bags of rice to 35 indegens of the community.

Speaking during the ceremony, the benefactor / Chief Celebrant, Engr Nwankwo, who explained the motivation behind the gesture, said that he decided to mark his birthday by giving out to people who he said, are less fortunate than he is. He said also that it is a way of thanking God Almighty, who made him what he is presently.

He further charged affluent individuals, especially those within Nnobi community, to imbibe the virtue of giving out to the less fortunate, in order to reduce suffering in the society.

He said, “In every village in Nnobi today, we have several rich individuals who can assist in reducing suffering among our people. If ten rich persons could start replicating what I’ve done today, in the next five to ten years, poverty and hunger shall been reduced to the barest minimum.

“As rich people, we spend a lot in cities, but if we can repatriat 5% or 10% of what we spend outside our communities back home, our people would be greatly relieved.”

Mrs Ebele Uzefie, petty trader, who was gifted N100,000 to support her business, thanked Engr Nwankwo for his magnanimity in supporting the less fortunate, and prayed God to bless him.

Speaking on behalf of herself and others, Somto Ezewi, one of the university undergraduates given N150,000 to support their academics, thanked him for his goodness in helping to support their education.

Others including Onyinye Ezeala, Anthony Nwankwo and Chukwuma Okpala thanked Engr Nwankwo for supporting his people, and prayed God to support him in many ways.
