Anambra Police Recover N.6 million Ransom Money, Abandoned SUV, Arms , As Gunmen Flee Community

The Anambra Police Command yesterday recovered the sum of N636 Million suspected to have been stolen or part of ransom paid for release of kidnap victim as well as arms from fleeing gunmen.

Also recovered is a Toyota Highlander accident SUV as well as other incriminating exhibits from the gunmen who fled Abagana Community in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state.

According to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the success story is on the account of offensive security operations by officers and men of the Command .

“The Operatives of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP) Special Patrol, at about 5:00 p.m. today 16th December 2025, during an offensive security operation in Abagana, recovered one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated single-barreled rifle, one ash Toyota highlander with reg nos: UWN 680 PE, suspected stolen cash amounting to Six Hundred and Thirty-Six Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira (₦636,700.00), and other incriminating items”

“The recovery followed the abandonment of an operational vehicle by fleeing suspects after it was involved in an accident during a hot pursuit by the operatives”

Ikenga however explained that the fleeing suspects are being traied as according to him intelligence-led operations have been intensified to ensure their arrest. Further development shall be communicated, please
