The thematic preoccupation of the Renewed Hope Agenda is economic reform and fiscal discipline. In Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has entrenched prudent financial management, blocking leakages, restoring due process, and ensuring that scarce resources are channeled to priority sectors.
This discipline, no doubt, mirrors the President’s push for a stable, reform-driven economy.
On security and stability, President Tinubu has made the safety of lives and property non-negotiable. In the same manner, Governor Alia has taken decisive steps to confront insecurity in Benue by strengthening collaboration with security agencies, complementing the central government’s efforts by supplying consistently supply logistics, supporting community-based intelligence, equipping local vigilantes and restoring confidence among displaced communities.
The agenda’s focus on agriculture and food security finds strong expression in Benue, Nigeria’s food basket. Alia’s administration has invested heavily in farmer support, Agribusiness and mechanization, access to inputs, rural infrastructure, and value-chain development directly echoing the President’s commitment to boosting local production and reducing hunger.
Infrastructure renewal is another key tenet. In line with federal priorities, the Alia administration has accelerated road rehabilitation, road construction. Already, Makurdi, hitherto mocked as a glorified village is gradually wearing the face of a true state capital. Schools, hospitals and lighting of streets are evident across the state. These improved infrastructure and enhanced access to basic amenities are stimulating commerce and mobility.
On human capital development, President Tinubu emphasizes education and healthcare as foundations for national growth. Governor Alia has advanced school reforms, teacher welfare, and healthcare delivery, ensuring that public services reach the most vulnerable.
The Renewed Hope Agenda also underscores job creation and youth empowerment. Through skills acquisition, MSME support, and youth-focused programs, Alia is expanding opportunities for self-reliance and productivity. The consistent training of youth in skills acquisition, training and retraining of the states workforce for optimal service delivery has become a routine.
Transparency, accountability, and institutional reform are central to Tinubu’s mandate. Alia’s insistence on merit, order, and ethical governance reinforces this ethos.
Finally, inclusive governance and social protection remain guiding principles. From workers’ welfare to community engagement, Alia’s leadership reflects a people-first approach.
President Tinubu is unequivocally focused on the well-being of Nigerians. In Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has not been found wanting, standing firmly on the President’s mandate and faithfully advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda for the good of the people.

The two are only two years and few months in office but their track record of performance is louder than any publicity. They are both aiming to leave an indelible mark on the sand of history after eight years of their administration.
Benue people are wiser now that they can see and feel realtime development. All Governor Alia needs is patience, steadfastness prayers and cooperation.
