Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, to witness the burial of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away in the early hours of Wednesday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, after a prolonged illness.
The Vice President was accompanied by top Federal Government officials, including the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Health and Social Development, Professor Ali Pate; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.

Also in the delegation were the Chairman, Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Shehu Buba, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, among other dignitaries.
Other notable dignitaries at the event include the Governors of Kano and Niger States, Abba Kabir Yusuf and Mohammed Umar Bago, deputy governo Borno state respectively.
Our correspondent reports that the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; former Bauchi State Governor, Alh Ahmed Mu’azu, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd); and former Senate Committee Chairman on Police Affairs, Haliru Dauda Jika, were also in attendance to witness the burial.
Similarly, the burial took place at the eid-el ground at about 4: 40 pm and his body was finally laid to rest close to his wife. and son’s at his Mosque in Bauchi.
