A former Political Liaison Officer to the Governor and Collation Agent for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebenator Ward during the November 8 Governorship Election in Anambra State, Engr. Jerome Igwe, has explained the factors behind APGA’s sweeping victory at the polls, attributing it to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s dogged leadership, people-oriented governance, and strategic political organisation.

Speaking in an interview with this reporter, Engr. Igwe said the outcome of the poll in Ebenator, Nnewi South, and across the State clearly reflected the resolve of the electorate, who chose to reward Governor Soludo’s performance with a resounding mandate for a second term. He noted that despite the expectations of the opposition, who had hoped to frustrate the administration through political resistance, the voters spoke loudly through the ballot and reaffirmed their confidence in the Solution Government.

According to him, APGA’s victory was not accidental but a product of years of visible development efforts, consistent community engagement, and the Governor’s unrelenting commitment to stabilizing and growing the State’s economy. He said the electorate saw and appreciated the infrastructural regeneration, security reforms, road construction projects, and investments in education, health and agriculture, which made the Governor’s re-election an easy choice.

Engr. Igwe, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Carlying Project Ltd., stressed that Ebenator Ward demonstrated a united political will by voting overwhelmingly for APGA. He appreciated the residents for their massive support and civic responsibility, adding that the community understood the importance of continuity in governance, especially at a time when some long-abandoned projects were finally receiving attention under Soludo.

Speaking further, Engr. Igwe lauded Governor Soludo for intervening in the Ebenator erosion gully site, describing the project as one of the community’s most pressing ecological needs. He noted that the Governor had already carried out the first phase of the flood and gully erosion control project, while also expressing optimism that subsequent phases would also be completed under the current administration as promised.

Beyond the erosion project, Engr. Igwe also pointed to the Governor’s grassroots development approach, which ensured that smaller communities such as Ebenator were not left behind in policy implementation and infrastructural rollout. He said the Governor’s insistence on equitable distribution of development shaped the confidence of rural dwellers, many of whom had felt neglected by previous administrations.

He noted that the government’s renewed security architecture, which led to the reclamation of several rural communities from criminal elements, played a major role in shaping the political mood across Nnewi South and other parts of the State. According to him, the restoration of peace allowed businesses, farms and local activities to flourish again, reinforcing the Governor’s message of prosperity through security.

Engr. Igwe further highlighted the Governor’s steady improvements in the education and healthcare sectors as silent but powerful influences during the poll. He explained that the recruitment of thousands of teachers, rehabilitation of mission schools, and ongoing upgrades of primary healthcare centres demonstrated an administration that matched words with action. These, he said, convinced parents, civil servants, and young voters that continuity was the safest path for the State, translating into massive support given to him by the people.

Engr. Igwe further explained that APGA’s triumph was also fueled by the party’s strong grassroots machinery, which had been revived and repositioned under Governor Soludo to reconnect deeply with voters at the various ward and polling-unit levels. He noted that the party adopted a community-by-community engagement model that ensured that feedback, concerns, and developmental needs of the people were addressed promptly. According to him, this strengthened public trust and prevented opposition propaganda from gaining ground in many rural communities.

While celebrating APGA’s victory, Engr. Igwe urged the people to remain prayerful and supportive of the Governor, expressing confidence that more developmental projects and benefits would reach Ebenator and neighbouring communities as the progressive government progresses towards making Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland, as envision by the governor — Ọrụatụegwù.

The APGA stalwart also expressed confidence in Governor Soludo’s evidence-based commitment to the APGA guiding philosophy of Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya — a development mantra that ensures no community, no family, and no citizen is left behind in the distribution of democratic dividends. He noted that this principle has become the moral compass of the administration, reflected in the spread of projects, empowerment programmes, and human-capital initiatives across all towns in the state and beyond. According to him, the overwhelming support APGA received at the polls was a direct endorsement of this inclusive governance model, which the electorate now recognises as the true identity of the party.

“Indeed, Anambra is on the rise, and Ndị Anambra have made the right choice,” he concluded.
