This is coming as the NIgerian Research and Tertiary Education Network NgREN appoints the Athena Center for Policy and Leadership member of it’s Governing Board.

According to Chidoka who represented the Athena Center at the inauguration, there is no way the federal government would embark on such all important program without the partnering with the respective state governments that own those institutions .

Chidoka who is the Chancellor of Athena Center welcomed the digital innovation underway but stressed the importance of deeper inclusion of state governments, who own and manage most Nigerian schools, in planning, implementation, and financing. According to him:

“For education to succeed, states must invest, lead, and commit. The Federal Government must coordinate and support, but it cannot carry the burden of school management alone.”he noted.
