Anambra Targets N60 Billion Revenue Profile Next Year Ends Multiple Taxation

Anambra state government has announced that it’s internal revenue profile would hit N60 billion by next year ahead of the tax laws of consolidation and harmonisation of all windows.

To this end the challenges of multiple taxation and revenue lose would be put to and end through it’s one stop payment to local government , state government and Federal governments .

According to the Chairman Anambra Internal Revenue Services AIRS Dr Greg Ezeilo who while congratulating Governor Charles Soludo on his second term victory,when the new law takes effect this coming January next year all revenues would be harmonized to stem the issues of multiple taxation.

“We are going to engage the markets and inform them that come January 1st when the new laws come into effect, the revenue space is going to take a different outlook”

“It is not as if we are going to unleash war on people but what we are doing is to stop multiple taxation and revenue lose ”

“This must come to an end and there is what we call consolidation and harmonisation”

“Where you see the local government councils , the state government comes and the federal government comes it becomes multiple taxation but what we are going to do next year is a one stop payment”

“It is going to be high level driven by technology of course and we have done that in the area of Transportation and other states are coming to copy or learn from us here in Anambra state”

Ezeilo announced that some state in the country have come to understudy the revenue policies of Anambra state in order to replicate same in their respective states.

“As we speak now Ekiti is already on ground at Enugu state and by next month they will be here on Anambra state and do pure review of how we have gotten the magic to drive the transport sector in Anambra state”

“In Anambra our revenue has not gotten to the peak of our target and Federal Allocations from Oil revenue has not been accessed well because we have not even started ripping properly from the NDDC ”

“We have been able to optimize our resources and doing more with less” .

“We shall buckle up our revenue as we speak we have exceeded our revenue budget of last year because last year we made N42 billion but as we speak we have gotten N48 billion revenue last year before the year runs out we shall be hitting up to N60 billion” he said.

Appraising the first term of Governor Charles Soludo, Ezeilo described it as magical explaining that his victory at the last election is a product of hard work by the governor.

“The mantra now is solution continues and you know we still have more on going projects like roads ”

“Like the Nwagu- Agulu to Okija . The one from Ekwulobia to Igbo- Ukwu up to Nnobi and there are new ones like Awka 2.0 , Onitsha 2.0 and the mixed industrial projects at Ogboji in Orumba and the pharmaceutical some where at Oba in Idemili South local government area”

“These are projects that would be in the next two three years as he rounds up his second term everybody would be convinced that the Dubai Taiwan has been actualized”

“The railline is coming and it is going to take the shape of a belt from Onitsha linking all other Cities with stations and terminal” he announced.
