It was a full fledged support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid as former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, his wife, Barrister Chidinma and his younger brother, Hon. Obinna Chidoka who represented Idemili North/South Constituency in the House of Representatives led other stakeholders and the entire Obosi electorate in a road show to demonstrate their unalloyed support for Soludo.
The demonstrators, numbering over 1000, took off from the house of Chief Linus Mgbakogu (Attah Obosi) at Little Wood Estate and trekked to Ukwu-Udara Bus stop down to Eke market to Nkwo market, Obosi and terminated the road show at Chidoka’s compound, chanting four plus four, equals to eight years for Soludo.
While embarking on the road show which lasted for approximately three hours, the demonstrators adorned themselves with vests and face caps with inscriptions: “Soludo must go for a second tenure” 4+4 equals to 8,”.
Among the stakeholders on the road show were two members of Obosi royal cabinet, Chief Mgbakogu (Attah Obosi), Chief Hyman Udemba (Akamkposi Obosi) and Chief Chuma Muoagom (Ojoma Obosi. Others were Nze Tochukwu Obienu, immediate past Chairmañ of Obosi youths and Chief Ekene Ebuzeme (Ikenga Oba).
Addressing the stakeholders shortly after they returned to his house with dancing interlude, Chidoka noted that after examining the credible performances of Governor Soludo’s first tenure for close to four years now, they deemed it expedient for him to go for a second tenure to complete all the good works he had started in the state and them hand over peacefully to somebody from Anambra Central Senatorial zone whose turn it is to take over from the present Anambra South Senatorial zone where Soludo cones from.
Echoeing Osita Chidoka’s view, his younger brother, Hon. Obinna Chidoka and the immediate past Obosi youth leader, Obienu said that all Obosi indigenes across party lines have been asking them, as their political leaders where to go and they have been calming them down until this right time when they are now showing them the road to follow.
