Preparations for the 2025 Elective National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have officially commenced with the inaugural meeting of the Protocol Sub-Committee scheduled to hold this week. The meeting marks the beginning of a series of strategic engagements leading up to the highly anticipated convention set for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Party officials confirm that all arrangements are in top gear as the Protocol Sub-Committee a key arm of the convention planning team begins its work to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated national event.
According to a statement released by the PDP National Secretariat, the Protocol Sub-Committee will play a critical role in managing logistics, guest coordination, accreditation procedures, and other vital protocol functions during the convention.
“This inaugural meeting is pivotal in laying the groundwork for what promises to be a historic and impactful National Convention,” the statement read. “We are fully committed to delivering a transparent, well-organized, and inclusive process that reflects the democratic ideals of our party.”

The 2025 Elective National Convention is expected to attract thousands of party delegates, stakeholders, observers, and media from across the country. As the venue, Ibadan is already buzzing with anticipation, given its historical significance and political weight in the South-West geopolitical zone.
This year’s convention will witness the election of new national officers, as well as key deliberations on the party’s strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
