The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, Chief George Moghalu, the State Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu and President-general of Nzuko Odinani Welfare Association (NOWA), Nze Ezeafor Izuegbu have clamoured for the profiling of the traditional medicine practitioners in the State.
Moghalu who spoke at the sensitization rally of the NOWA in Awka, the State capital, yesterday, noted that the profiling would check misbehavior and misleading of the youths by few bad practitioners who aid them with evil power and wealth at all costs.
He traced the escalation of bad native medicine practices to the failure of the State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo to prioritize security and effectively prevent and combat crime.
He pointed out that insecurity in the State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) accounted for relocation of business and apathy to investments in the State with its attendant capital flight, lamenting failure of Soludo to attract one Direct Foreign Investment (DFI) in the State.
The LP candidate revealed that bad elements also exist in religious organizations, orthodox and unorthodox medicine practices, pointing out that the best way to check evil perpetrators is to  putting in place pro-active measures and  strengthening the regulatory framework.
In his remarks, the Orutugu represented by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Uche Noah said the State Police Command is ever ready to profile traditional medicine practitioners in the State in order to weed out the bad elements in order to sanitize the sector.
Earlier, the President-general of NOWA, Nze Ezeafor Izuegbu thanked the CP for honouring the invitation of NOWA and address the issue of security, pointing out that his members from 13 indigenous Igbo speaking states of the federation are ready to undergo the profiling.
 Izuegbu said the event was organized as part of activities to sensitize the members on the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election, describing those who claim to be native doctors and prepare charms for kidnappers and tricksters and Yahoo Plus, etc as black magicians.
The NOWA boss said the Association exists nationwide and has cordial relationship with the government, even as he noted that ‘w can use traditional medicine practice to reduce crime and sanitize the society
He said the sanitization would make NOWA to stand out and go a long way to ensure good governance and state, warning members not to risk sanction by aiding criminals and associating with bad politicians to carry out unwholesome practices this election period.
