Over N350 million of Anambra state revenue is being saved monthly by the Anambra State Waste Disposal PayDirect Contractors in the area.
The sum represents the amount government would have been spending on waste disposal in the state which the contractors collect from the affected members of the public whose wastes are being disposed by the contractors .
According to the newly elected Chairman of the Association of contractors Chief Uchenna Auswell Okpala Ezissi Nnabuenyi who spoke shortly after it’s election, the contractors since inception have been receiving the payment of tarrif from clients who pay through the banks and also through online.
“This is in line with the policy of the state government under the watch of Governor Charles Soludo and payments in cash had in the passed resulted in lost of revenue running into more than N350 million every month ”
“We operate PayDirect because we use the Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) Tariff and demand notice to collect ASWAMA fee directly from local communities”
ASWAMA is a statutory State government agency attached under the ministry of environment Awka.
The Anambra state waste disposal PayDirect contractors association are poised to keep up a livable, clean and green Anambra state.
“As they interact directly with the grassroot communities throughout the state. Hence, they are part of the delight of every individual in various local communities”
” Most of who are in solidarity and eager to vote massively for our amiable Gov. Charles Soludo for second tenure”
“When the Governor discovered that he do not need to spend money running into billions to pay contractors for waste management, he adopted the idea and today revenues are being saved ” he stated.
