The Independent Non-Executive Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Hon. Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, has called on residents of Ajingi, Gaya, and Albasu Local Government Areas to ensure that all eligible voters register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already commenced the voter registration exercise at designated centers across the country.
Hon. Gaya emphasized that obtaining a PVC is a fundamental right of every Nigerian citizen, as guaranteed under Chapter Four of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This appeal was made in a press release issued and signed by his media office in Kano.
He stressed that the Permanent Voter Card is a powerful tool—one that gives citizens the ability to make their voices heard and actively shape the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
Hon. Gaya, who also serves as a Non-Executive Director (Asset and Liability) at the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), further urged INEC to intensify its public awareness campaigns to encourage greater participation in both the registration and collection of PVCs.
