The Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved several more strategic projects across the state, even as it emphasized that no new projects will be awarded for the sake of election season.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, after the Council’s 19th meeting of the year, held on September 15, 2025, at the Light House, Awka.

According to him, ANSEC emphasized that, unlike what was obtainable in the past, the present administration under Governor Soludo will continue to award projects only based on their strategic and economic significance, and on the areas with the highest needs, stressing that no project will be initiated to score political points because of elections.

Dr. Mefor further disclosed that the Council also reaffirmed during the meeting that no contractors will be owed a dime by the state government, a principle, he said, has been sustained since Governor Soludo assumed office.

Highlighting the latest approvals and projects awarded by the ANSEC, the Information Commissioner announced that the contract for the construction and dualisation of the Ekwulobia–Ufuma Road, with a bridge, has been awarded to Lebtech Construction Ltd at the cost of ₦37,953,266,323.05. He noted that the project is one of the landmark road contracts that will boost connectivity, enhance socio-economic activities, and stimulate development in the area and beyond.

While noting that these projects cut across key sectors such as infrastructure, health, education, and social amenities, Dr. Mefor explained that they are designed to uplift the quality of life of Ndi Anambra, attract investments, and further reposition the state on the path of sustainable development.

He assured that Governor Soludo’s administration remains resolute in its commitment to purposeful and accountable governance, adding that the latest approvals reflect the government’s deliberate approach to ensure that every project awarded directly addresses the most pressing needs of the people and contributes to the Governor’s vision of building a livable and prosperous homeland.
