The Chairman of Misau Local Government Area, Salisu Hussaini Hardawa said that state government has allocated N6.5 billion for the dualization of a 7.5-kilometer township road will improve safely, boost economy as well as increase the internally revenue generation (IGR).
Besides that the road dualization will significantly reduce and ease traffic congestion within the metropolis.
Hardawa disclosed this to journalists on a facility Tour over the weekend in Misau Bauchi, said that this project aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve safety, and boost economic activities in the region.
Site Engineer Nicholas David said “As you can see, we are doing our best, and the work is progressing steadily. We have done more than half, and work is ongoing on the other half.”
The project is already over 50% completed, with contractors Mother Cat assuring that the road will be finished by the end of 2025.
Initial delays were caused by fluctuations in construction material prices, but prices have stabilized, eliminating the need for further contract variations.
Corroborating, Engineer Mohammed Babagana also Commended the contractors for their performance, confirming that more than half of the job has been completed, and assured that quality work will be delivered despite the contract sum variation.
The project aims to reduce accidents and ease traffic flow for the people of Misau.
The dualization of the road is expected to boost socio-economic activities in the local government area and beyond.
