In a statement signed by the President General of Igbo Community Association of the Federal Capital Territory FTC Abuja Engr Ikenna- Ellis Ezenekwe the theme of this year’s Igbo Day Celebration indeed is well taken adding that the spirit of “Leave No One Behind” is one that every Igbo person must embrace.
“We the Igbo Community Association Abuja wish to felicitate with the Ohaneze Ndigbo for the successful celebration of the year 2025 World Igbo Day which was hosted by Anambra state”
“The theme of this year’s celebration is indeed a welcome development and a wake up call on our brothers and sisters that we should not leave anyone behind ”
Ezenekwe however decried the 1966 polgrom that led to the genocide of Igbo sons and daughters lamenting that nothing has been done by successive administrations in the country to heal those wounds.
“Since September 29th 1966 when the Igbos witness the polgrom in far northern Nigeria, no government of this country has made efforts to heal those wounds rather the killings have continued in different shapes and manner ”

“While we remember our list heros , we wish to urge other Igbo organizations to have better synergy in the affairs of Ndigbo by working towards securing the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu” he said.
