The Anambra South Senator-elect, Chief Emmanuel Chibuzor Nwachukwu (Onọdugo), has declared that his victory at the polls belongs to the people, stressing that every member of his constituency is a senator through his mandate.

Chief Nwachukwu made this declaration on Thursday when a high-powered delegation from Ebenator community, led by the President-General of Ebenator Development Union (E.D.U.), Ambassador Chigozie Anadi, paid him a congratulatory visit at his country home in Umuhu, Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The visit, which attracted prominent stakeholders and respected leaders of Ebenator, was not only a demonstration of unity but also a show of unflinching support to Chief Nwachukwu as he prepares to represent Anambra South in the 10th Senate beginning from this month.

Speaking at the event, the PG, Ambassador Anadi, congratulated the Senator-elect on his landslide victory at the polls and commended the people of Nnewi South for throwing their weight behind one of their own. He further assured him of his people’s support, while also noting that his victory remains a victory for Ndị Nnewi South and Ndị Anambra South at large.

The Ebenator PG reminded Chief Nwachukwu of the long-standing bond between Ebenator and Ukpor communities, describing the senatorial victory as a collective triumph that must translate into collective progress.

He further highlighted some of the pressing needs of Ebenator community, including the construction of interconnecting roads and bridges between Ebenator, Ukpor, and some neighbouring towns, as well as the need for urgent intervention at the devastating Ebenator erosion gully, which has threatened lives, property, and farmlands for years.

While commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the first phase of interventional work so far done on the erosion gully, he further envisioned that comprehensively addressing these concerns will not only improve accessibility in the area but will also boost economic activities and create more opportunities for development within the region. The PG expressed confidence on the ability and the capability of the new senator to give the constituents quality representation; even as he expressed optimism that the Senator-elect would not hesitate to speak for and give his people a true sense of belonging through equitable and responsive representation at the Red Chamber.

He assured the people of effective, inclusive, and transparent representation, rooted in equity and fairness, while also pledging to carry all communities along in decision-making and developmental projects. He emphasized that the highlighted road projects and erosion sites were already on his priority list, promising to work closely with both the federal and state governments to ensure timely interventions.

While thanking Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his pivotal role in ensuring that Nnewi South produced the Senator in the just-concluded election, Chief Nwachukwu urged the people to reciprocate the Governor’s goodwill and the dividends of democracy being enjoyed under the Solution Government by voting massively for APGA in the November 8 governorship election.

Chief Nwachukwu also promised to run an open-door policy, urging constituents to freely engage his office with their ideas, concerns, and expectations.
