A disturbing case has emerged from Bauchi State involving Imamu Tukur, a aide to former Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, who is currently facing serious allegations of rape and criminal conspiracy against his former wife, Hajiya Halima.
According to sources close to the matter, the alleged incident occurred within Halima’s family compound, where Tukur reportedly attempted to sexually assault her. In response, Halima filed a formal complaint at the Shariah Court in Bauchi, where the case is now pending adjudication.
Further revelations indicate that Tukur had previously been taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over accusations of stealing gold jewelry belonging to Halima. These developments have raised concerns about Tukur’s conduct and character, with some observers urging Senator Jika to reconsider his association with the embattled aide.
Efforts by our correspondent to reach Imamu Tukur for comment were unsuccessful. Similarly, attempts to contact Senator Halliru Dauda Jika for his reaction to the allegations yielded no response at the time of filing this report.
Sources close to Halima’s family have confirmed their intention to pursue full legal action, demanding the prosecution of Tukur for the alleged rape and theft.
This case has sparked public interest and concern, especially given the political connections of the accused. Legal experts and civil society groups are closely monitoring proceedings at the Shariah Court, calling for transparency and justice.
