In fulfillment of his administration’s commitment to rural development, Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed, has awarded contract of construction of the 7-kilometer Dajin Road in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area as contractors mobilize to site of the project.
The road, which links Dajin Village to surrounding communities, is expected to significantly improve the economic and social well-being of residents, most of whom are farmers. Historically, Dajin was one of the leading producers of cotton in Nigeria before the discovery of oil shifted national attention away from agriculture.

Governor Bala Mohammed, speaking through his media team, reaffirmed his dedication to infrastructure development as a tool for economic empowerment: “This road project is a promise kept. It will open up opportunities for our farmers, ease transportation, and stimulate growth in rural areas.”
The construction of the Dajin Road is widely regarded as one of the landmark legacy projects of the PDP-led administration under Senator Bala Mohammed. Community leaders and residents have lauded the initiative, noting that the road will enhance access to markets, healthcare, and education, while also reducing travel time and transportation costs.
Residence and Local farmers expressed optimism that the road will revive agricultural activities and attract investment to the area. “For years, we struggled to move our produce to market. This road will change everything,” said Barr Lawal Ibrahim of Dajin.
The project is part of a broader infrastructure agenda aimed at bridging the development gap between urban and rural communities across Bauchi State. Construction is expected to begin immediately, with contractors already mobilized to site.
As work begins, the people of Dajin and Tafawa Balewa LGA look forward to a future of improved connectivity, economic revival, and sustained development.
