In a show of unity and strategic coordination, Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, arrived in Gusau today alongside fellow PDP governors ahead of the Forum’s high-level meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
The gathering, hosted in Zamfara State’s capital, is expected to serve as a pivotal moment for the party’s leadership, offering a platform to deliberate on pressing national issues, reinforce internal cohesion, and chart a collective path toward effective governance across PDP-controlled states.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who leads the Forum, emphasized the importance of the meeting in consolidating the PDP’s role as a vibrant opposition force. “We are here not only to strategize for the future of our party but to reaffirm our commitment to policies that uplift the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” he stated upon arrival.
The governors’ presence in Gusau also signals strong solidarity with the government and people of Zamfara State. By rotating the venue of its meetings, the Forum continues its tradition of inclusivity and shared leadership among member states.
Political observers note that the timing of the meeting is critical, as the PDP seeks to strengthen its national relevance and respond to emerging socio-economic challenges. Discussions are expected to touch on security, economic development, and intergovernmental collaboration.
The PDP Governors’ Forum remains a key organ within the party, often setting the tone for policy direction and political engagement at both state and national levels.
