Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has lauded the enterpreneural spirits of traders in the and pleged to partner with leaders of Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, ASMATA to build greater Anambra state.
Speaking a rally organized for him by the leadership of ASMATA at Chuba Ikpeazu stadium, Onitsha, to unianimously endorse him for a second tenure, Soludo noted that by the time he would conclude his second term administration in the state, Anambra would become a remarkable Taiwan state of Nigeria.
He boasted that at the moment, Anambra is the safest state in Nigeria in terms of security, adding that with the establishment of Agunechemba security outfit code-named Operation Udo-Ga-Chi, all the criminals terrorizing the state have been apprehended or fled for their safety thus allowing all the responsible and hard working citizens of the who hitherto relocated outside the state for fear of violent criminals to return home and continue with their legitimate businesses.
He therefore commended the traders for endorsing him for a second tenure, among other candidates of other political parties and assured the traders that they would not regret the overwhelming support they have accorded so far urged them not to listen to those who have no credibility and yet claimed to contesting for governorships in a state where the likes of Zik, Ojukwu, Anyaoku, Ekwueme, Nwafor Orizu, Chinua Achebe come from.
Reminding the traders of the existing bank on revenue collection from gawjers, barrow pushers and petty traders, Soludo disclosed that very soon, taxes would no longer be collected by cash but by coded system where payments would be made directly into Government treasury.
Earlier, President-General of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna and Patron of ASMATA, Chief Jude Nwankwo had praised Soludo for his leadership qualities so far and insisted that he should go for a second tenure to enable him continue with his good works in the state.
Handing over a symbolic cheque of N10 million to Soludo to support his campaign train, Anuna and Nwankwo assured Soludo that as far as the traders were concerned, he would win all the polling boots in all the 326 wards of the state, come November 8 Governorship election in the state.
