In a show of regional solidarity and political engagement, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, arrived in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, ahead of the highly anticipated North East Governors’ Forum meeting.
The governor touched down at the Jalingo Airport earlier today, where he was warmly received by a delegation led by the Executive Governor Kefas Agbu and Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Aminu Hammayo. Top government officials and enthusiastic supporters gathered at the airport, chanting solidarity songs and waving banners in a spirited welcome for the visiting leader.
Governor Bala Mohammed’s arrival marks a significant moment in the buildup to the forum, which brings together governors from the North East geopolitical zone to deliberate on pressing regional issues including security, infrastructure, economic development, and inter-state collaboration.
Following his arrival, Governor Mohammed proceeded to the Taraba State Government House where he inspected the guard of honour and was formally received by his host, Governor Kefas Agbu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The two leaders exchanged pleasantries and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering unity and progress across the region.
The North East Governors’ Forum has become a vital platform for strategic dialogue and coordinated action among the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe. This latest meeting in Jalingo is expected to produce resolutions aimed at strengthening regional security architecture and accelerating development initiatives.
More governors are expected to arrive in the coming hours as preparations intensify for the closed-door sessions scheduled to begin tomorrow.
