The Anambra State Police Command has successfully apprehended a wanted suspected kidnapper, John Chinagorom, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Police Command.
The Anambra State Police Spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest in a press statement issued on Saturday, August 2, in which he revealed that the arrested suspect had been in the wanted list since.
According to the statement, operatives from the Ozubulu Police Division received credible intelligence at noon on August 1 that Chinagorom — who is linked to a kidnapping case reported on April 15, 2025 — was seen at PZ Park Road in Zaria, Kaduna State. Acting promptly, detectives from the division were dispatched and, working closely with officers from the Kaduna State Police, successfully arrested the suspect at his hideout.
SP Ikenga said the suspect is now in custody and is assisting law enforcement with the ongoing investigation into the April kidnapping incident.
He further noted that the security situation across Anambra remains calm, with counter-terrorism efforts and patrol operations still active to maintain public safety.
