In a heartfelt show of solidarity, the Executive Chairman of Dass Local Government Area, Hon. Mohammad Jibo, has visited victims of the recent flood disaster in Badel Community, following days of torrential rainfall that wreaked havoc across the region.
Accompanied by the Member Representing Dass Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Babangida, and other local government officials, Hon. Jibo toured the affected areas to assess the extent of damage and offer immediate support to displaced residents.
During the visit, Hon. Jibo expressed deep sympathy for the victims, many of whom lost their homes and belongings to the floodwaters. He assured the community that relief materials including food items, temporary shelter, and other essentials would be provided promptly to ease their suffering.
“We are here not just to sympathize, but to act,” Hon. Jibo stated. “The local government is committed to ensuring that no victim is left behind. We will do everything within our power to support you during this difficult time.”
The Chairman also inspected the flood-prone zones to identify the root causes of the disaster and explore long-term solutions. He emphasized the need for improved drainage systems and proactive environmental management to mitigate future occurrences.
In his remarks, Hon. Babangida commended the resilience of the Badel community and pledged legislative support to attract state and federal intervention.
Hon. Jibo further appealed to the Bauchi State Government, the Federal Government, and humanitarian organizations to extend assistance to the affected families, noting that climate-related disasters are becoming increasingly frequent and devastating.
The visit marks a significant step in the local government’s emergency response efforts and highlights Hon. Jibo’s commitment to the welfare of Dass residents, especially in times of crisis.
