In a heartfelt homecoming and a powerful endorsement of grassroots education, the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, visited several recently renovated Islamiyya schools in Alkaleri Local Government Area, including the Noorul Islam Islamiyya School her childhood alma mater.
The renovations were carried out by the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, a humanitarian organization founded by the First Lady herself, which has been instrumental in uplifting educational and religious institutions across Bauchi State. The visit was part of her foundation’s broader mission to promote inclusive learning and improve access to quality education for underprivileged children.
Addressing teachers, students, and community leaders, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed emphasized the importance of integrating religious and western education to raise morally upright and intellectually capable future leaders.
“We must not choose between religious and western education. Our children deserve both to be spiritually grounded and academically empowered,” she said.
The First Lady urged parents to prioritize education and avoid neglecting either aspect, noting that balanced learning is essential for national development and personal growth.
However, Her visit was met with enthusiastic reception from school administrators and local residents, who praised her for her tireless commitment to humanitarian causes. Many credited the Al-Muhibbah Foundation’s interventions with transforming dilapidated classrooms into conducive learning environments.
Students of Noorul Islam Islamiyya School offered prayers for the First Lady, expressing gratitude for her generosity and leadership. Their heartfelt supplications reflected the deep emotional connection between the community and the First Lady’s legacy of service.
The Al-Muhibbah Foundation continues to expand its reach, with projects ranging from school renovations to the establishment of the Al-Muhibbah Open University an institution aimed at providing accessible higher education in the North East.
