In a bold stride toward youth and women empowerment, the First Lady of Bauchi State and Founder of the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has officially commissioned the AMF Fashion Factory, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to producing high-quality shoes, bags, and leather goods that meet international standards.

The commissioning ceremony, held in Bauchi, drew dignitaries, community leaders, and development advocates who hailed the initiative as a transformative step in promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance across the state.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed emphasized that the factory will serve as a vital empowerment hub, offering practical skills and economic opportunities to youth and women. “This factory is not just a production center it is a symbol of hope, innovation, and resilience. We are committed to equipping our people with the tools they need to thrive,” she said.

The First Lady also urged the public to support the factory by patronizing its locally made products, reinforcing the importance of homegrown industries in driving sustainable development.

The Director of the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Hajiya Ladi Thomas, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Aisha for her visionary leadership and investment in human capital. “Her Excellency’s commitment to empowering women and youth is unmatched. This factory is a testament to her belief in inclusive growth,” she stated.

In a significant development, Dr. Ahmed Garba, Vice Chancellor of the Al-Muhibbah Open University, announced that the institution will integrate the factory into its vocational and technical training programs. This move aims to enhance hands-on learning and skill acquisition for students, further bridging the gap between education and employment.
