High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo, Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC National Reconciliation Committee for Anambra State has charged the newly inaugurated executive members of APC Youth League to go all out and terminate the 19-year old disasterous dominance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Abambra Government House.
He expressed optimism that the coming together of all the youths under the banner of APC Youth League marked a decisive step toward ending APGA’s reign in the state and installing a youth-focused and oriented government.
Onunkwo who made the charge on Monday while receiving an honourary award as Grand Patron of the APC Youth League during the inaugural ceremony of its newly elected executive council at the APC State Secretariat, Awka, maintained that the unification of Anambra youths under the APC is a clear indication that the time has come to dislodge APGA from power and install a government that prioritizes the interests of young people.
Represented at the occasion by his media Spokesperson, Comrade Emmanuel Ifediata, Onunkwo declared: “Our youths are ready, determined and organized to make this happen”.
Onunkwo also charged the newly inaugurated executive council to remain steadfast, resist distractions, and focus on the collective interest of Anambra youths over personal gains.
“This is beyond immediate gratification,” he emphasized, adding, Our youths must use their grassroots machinery not only to deliver APC victory in the Anambra governorship polls but also to consolidate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.”
Onunkwo therefore urged the new APC Youth League executive council to return to the grassroots, recruit more young people, and remain resolute in ensuring APC’s electoral success in Anambra State.
“Victory will come from the villages, towns, and wards where real politics is played,” he charged. “Our mission is clear: unite, mobilize, and deliver APC victory for the future of Anambra youth.
Describing Onunkwo as a ‘pillar of youth empowerment’ and ‘a youth general’ whose philanthropy, leadership, and political investments have consistently advanced the APC cause in Anambra and across Nigeria, Ifediata noted that as part of his commitment to strengthening youth participation, Onunkwo supported the APC Youth League with funds to assist with logistics and grassroots mobilization ahead of the governorship election.
“Chief Onunkwo understands that victory requires structures, strategy, and resources,” Ifediata stated, adding, his financial support is a demonstration of his unshakable belief in the capacity of Anambra youths to deliver APC victory at the polls”, said Ifediata.
Ifediata also quoted Onunkwo as having expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the party is positioned to win both the Anambra governorship election and the 2027 general elections, thereby sustaining President Tinubu’s economic reforms and delivering the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
On behalf of High Chief Onunkwo, Ifediata also extended condolences to Prof. Yilwatda on the passing of his beloved mother, praying for God’s comfort and strength for the National Chairman and his family during their time of grief.
