In a significant stride toward improving healthcare access and infrastructure, Hon. Ali Isah JC, PhD, the Minority Whip of the National Assembly and Member representing Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency, has officially commenced the construction of the vital road linking Cottage Hospital to the Gombe–Yola road in Bambam.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held earlier this week, drew community leaders, local government officials, and enthusiastic residents who hailed the project as a long-awaited development that will ease transportation challenges and enhance emergency response times for patients seeking medical care.
Speaking at the event, Senior Special Assistant To The Speaker Mr Jessy Mallums emphasized the importance of the road in connecting rural communities to essential health services. “This road is not just a path it’s a lifeline. It will ensure that our people, especially those in remote areas, can access the Cottage Hospital quickly and safely,” he stated.
The new road is expected to span several kilometers and will be constructed to withstand seasonal weather conditions, ensuring year-round accessibility. The project is part of Hon. Isah’s broader commitment to infrastructural development and equitable service delivery across his constituency.
Local residents expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that the road will significantly reduce travel time and improve the overall quality of life in Bambam and surrounding communities.
Construction is set to proceed in phases, with completion targeted within the next few months. The project is being overseen by reputable contractors under the supervision of federal and state engineers to ensure quality and durability.
Hon. Ali Isah JC continues to champion development-focused legislation and constituency projects, reinforcing his reputation as a responsive and visionary leader in Gombe State.
