In a major political development, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, joined other founding members and influential stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a high-level Consultative Conference held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The conference, which carried the theme “Reclaiming Our Legacy, Renewing Our Collective Vision,” served as a strategic reflection point for party leaders aiming to consolidate the PDP’s historical foundations and reinvigorate its future path.
Professor Jerry Gana, a revered elder statesman and one of PDP’s original architects, delivered the opening remarks. He revisited the Party’s origins, highlighting the sacrifices, core ideals, and perseverance that have sustained the PDP through Nigeria’s complex political landscape.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who currently chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, reaffirmed his enduring commitment to the party’s values and mission. Acknowledging the hurdles PDP has weathered over the years, he praised the party’s resilience and ability to maintain its relevance in shaping Nigeria’s democratic journey.
“Our strength lies in unity, legacy, and a shared vision. As leaders, we must recommit to the principles that formed the backbone of our great party,” Governor Bala stated.
The Consultative Conference is expected to spur internal reforms, policy recalibrations, and enhanced strategic planning as the PDP seeks to redefine its role ahead of future political cycles.
